We have a Designated Teacher for Looked after Children (Mrs Laura Snowdon) who works closely with the SENCO to ensure all teachers in school understand the implications for those children who are looked after and have SEN.
We support children and young people who are looked after and have SEN using the supportive systems we have in place. We ensure that children who are both SEN and Looked After have the same opportunities and we apply the same procedures to support them. This includes how we review progress through our SEN Support Plan/EHCP process. In addition to this we complete termly PEPs with the designated teacher for Looked After Children, and those involved with the child, to ensure progress is monitored closely and support is matched to their needs.
